Concord Square
The Place de la Concorde is the largest square in the French capital. Decorated with statues and fountains, it was designed by Ange-Jacques Gabriel in 1755.
It was the site of many notable public executions of royalty during the French Revolution. In 1795 the square was renamed Place de la Concorde as a gesture of reconciliation after the turmoil of the French Revolution ( read more )
