If outside the city, meeting at our office (C/ Castelar, 49 -39004 Santander), next to “Palacio de Festivales” SUMMARY We will leave at 09:15 direction Ramales de la Victoria, where we will visit either Cullalvera or Covalanas cave (depending on availability). Cullalvera is a majestic cave, formed by large cavities of easy access and where you can enjoy the cave's magic show of sound, light, and water. On the other side is the famous Cave of Covalanas, also known as the cave of red deer, is a World Heritage Site of Unesco since 2008. This is a cavity of reduced dimensions (barely 65m) and hosts rock representations of more Of 25,000 years (Upper Paleolithic). The importance of this cave rests in his figures endowed with realism and movement thanks to the reddish color of his paintings. Depending on availability, the visit to one or other of the caves will be made, without being able to be guaranteed a visit to any particular cave in advance. Then we will then go have a meal at a nice restaurant in the region. After this break, we will go to the Natural Park of the Collados del Asón, a meeting with the magnificent mountains of the Soba Valley at 660 m altitude. In these mountains, the Asón River is born through a spectacular waterfall of more than 50m where the water and the abrupt landscape that offers the valley. But first, we will visit the lookout of the Gandara River. This river rises among gentle meadows, at the foot of an impressive natural cordage. Both rivers run through different valleys, those of Soba and Ruesga, to finally unify in Ramales de la Victoria. It is also worth mentioning the more native forest, especially in the highest part of the park, formed by oak beech forests and above. Finally, we will go to the municipality of Ampuero. From this place, we will descent in Canoa on the Asón river (through the municipality of Udalla). We will meet there with more people who also will do this activity organized by a local company. The duration of this canoeing experience will be of about 2.5 / 3 hours. A fun experience in an incredible natural environmenr! Once the canoeing trip is finished, we will go back to Santander where we should arrive around 19:45 pm.
